WWD recently reported that celebrity brands containing the celebrity's name have worn out their welcome!!!

Brands such as Mandy Moore's Mblem, Heidi Montag's Heidiwood, and Jennifer Lopez's JLO and Sweetface have all shut down production! Other celebrity brands, such as Paris Hilton's and Lauren Conrad's, are either finding new licensees or changing the focus of their brand to a less expensive market.

This is not the case for celebrities that have made their brands a separate entity from their own image. These brands include Gwen Stephani's L.A.M.B., Jay-Z's Rocawear, Justin Timberlake's William Rast, and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's The Row and a Elizabeth and James (just to name a few).

The main issues seemed to be over saturation and the Recession!!!

We're sure they'll all bounce back from this!!
